Important Community Update

Message from FirstServices Residential:

Greetings Residents!

The Leeland Station CA, per recommendations of the CDC, and in following suit of Stafford County, and the City of Fredericksburg Governments last week; is closing down all playgrounds, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts as of today 3/30/2020.

The interaction between people, especially groups of people, within close quarters are of major concern right now. The Association cannot effectively control and monitor what hygiene or preventive measures each individual using the Association facilities is practicing but can only make suggestions which are why the decision to CLOSE the facilities has been made.

This closure includes the suspension of events, community programs, classes, and clubhouse rentals through May 1, 2020. This is a constantly evolving process and we are grateful for your continued patience and support as we navigate the mitigation of COVID-19. Parents, it is important that you speak to your children about the threat, and passing of germs.

While we understand and encourage outside activity during this time of social distancing, we do not have any means to keep these areas clean and disinfect on an hourly basis.

(The CDC has stated that current evidence suggests that novel coronavirus may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in community settings.

• Cleaning refers to the removal of dirt and impurities, including germs, from surfaces. Cleaning alone does not kill germs. But by removing the germs, it decreases their number and therefore any risk of spreading infection.

• Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.)

While participating in social distancing, and working remotely; the Leeland Station Board of Directors, Committees, and Management continue to work diligently on community projects, reviewing modification applications, and handling the overall daily operations of the community. While the April Board of Director’s meeting is cancelled, the May meeting will be held either via conference call (available for any interested owners to call in and listen to the meeting) or held as a regular meeting (based on recommendations at that time). The April 9th Modifications Committee Meeting will be held in a modified environment.

The pool pass packet will be distributed (via mail and email blast) within the next week or so. While we do not know at this time what the future holds, we are committed to move forward with pool pass processing, and spring pool maintenance as usual. The process will be modified, and explained in the accompanying letter.
