Call for Public Comment
On Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 3:00pm. the Stafford County Board of Supervisors will take additional public comment and consider the petition submitted by Leeland Station Community Association to establish a restricted parking area by amending and re-ordaining Stafford County Code Section 15-56 , entitled “Designation of Restricted Parking Areas” to include all streets within the Leeland Station community. The code amendment was deferred at the July 10th Board of Supervisors meeting after the public hearing.
This designation would regulate and prohibit parking of watercraft, boat trailers, motor homes, camping trailers, and commercial vehicles and parking for commercial purposes on the public streets as defined by Stafford County ordinances. Please note that the restrictions in the Stafford County ordinances are generally consistent with the vehicles restrictions in Article 8 Section 8.2 Sub sec (o), of the Declaration for Leeland Station. Please note further that the regulations and prohibitions established on the public streets within the Restricted Parking Area would be enforced by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office by means of a complaint.
Leeland Station would join 16 other communities that ordained and designated Residential Parking Areas on the public streets within their respective communities. The resolution and petition to establish Leeland Station was sent to Stafford County in February 2018, after the previous Board Advisory Committee and current Board of Directors held public discussions and took resident comment at the September 2017, October 2017, and November 2017 BAC meetings, the 2017 Association Annual Meeting, the December 2017, and February 2018, Board of Director’s Meetings.
On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, we invite Leeland Station property owners to participate in additional public comment by appearing in person or emailing Stafford County Supervisor Meg Bohmke at MBohmke@staffordcountyva.gov.
